This would be more of a full day trip, but there is a train from Doyelstown (about 20 min from New Hope) that will take you to center city. Reading Terminal Market, The Convention Center, and Fashion District are right outside of Jefferson Station. The Liberty Bell/Independence Hall is only about 5 blocks from Jefferson Station. There are plenty of other things to do as well of course, but be mindful that many things will require tickets or reservations in advance.
An "old fashion" village filled with shops and restaurants and often has various types of events occuring on the weekends.
